The club was founded in 1971 by a small group of enthusiasts interested purely in the restoration of motor vehicles for
the benefit of future generations whilst providing a great source of pleasure for today
In 1973 the club acquired club workshop and garage premises it was from a building shell full of rubble that it grew and
with the unstinting help of members was eventually cleared and an electricity supply installed. In 1987 a new club room was
built with seating for 40 plus a cafeteria and toilet facilities.
Work benches with vices, Welding plant, Four post ramp, Metal bender, Pillar Drill and various other workshop facilities
are now available for use by any club member. Opportunities exist for members without vehicles of there own to become involved
in all the other aspects of the club.
Restoration of vehicles isn't the only thing that goes on within the club. The club has 2 show days a year an opportunity
to invite people to bring there cars along and for our own members to show there finished cars. Also a newly established
bike section which creates the third show of the year for people to come and show there bikes
The club which has grown over the years has a strong following of members and has an elected committee consisting of a
Chairman, Vice chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Outside events secretary plus other committee members who are responsible for
the smooth running of the club.
Today the club is still going strong welcoming and including a friendly group of people who are always willing to help
or just happen to have that elusive part lying around in the back of there garage. Once involved in the club you get to meet
people who have the same interests as yourself and get facilities to be able to make use of to restore and finish the car
of your dreams that you just didn't have room to do at home.
